Shakespeare All Year (SAY) Theatre Society is a non-profit theatre society that presents the works of William Shakespeare and primarily engages emerging or semi-professional artists. We aim to produce adaptations that preserve the original text while re-contextualizing the plays for modern audiences and showcasing talented Lower Mainland creatives.
SAY was officially incorporated in 2024 and inspired by a desire to broaden the accessibility of Shakespeare’s works. Our adaptations enable younger or emerging actors to play roles that would not ordinarily be available to them. Through this work, we act as a theatre lab to provide hands-on Shakespeare experience for artists who want to work with early modern text in the future.
In addition to mounting full-scale productions and staged readings, SAY also hosts table readings of Shakespeare and Shakespeare-adjacent works. We invite anyone to join us and grow their understanding of timeless themes and relationships.
All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.
